Even though I promised her that I wouldn't, I woke Maim up so that she didn't sleep through the day and miss out on shopping. Not as hard or amusing as waking up 3D Pop.
If Maim ever blogs, I'm sure she'll tell you what she got up to.
Meanwhile, I headed out on what would be a three hour walk around Austin. For those of you who do not know me very well or at all, I like to look at buildings. I also like to get lost in foreign cities. But getting lost in Downtown Austin isn't really possible because there aren't that many tall buildings and the Frost or State Capitol tend to right your wrongs.
I also enjoy walking around university campuses and the University of Texas was calling me. I was trying to find the Art Gallery but instead was lured in by the mammoth football stadium. People who attend UT really like to wear UT clothing. I felt really out of place in my VRDL tank and it didn't allow me to blend in with the crowd. Not that I was trying to. Much.
So I walked around campus for a bit because universities usually have a fantastic array of architectural styles. And I do like a preppy. And a jock. And a nerd. Not many hipsters in these parts of the woods.
Then it was down to the Texas Chili Parlour for a photo op followed by lunch on Congress Street at the caravan food court where we had questionable coffee on Saturday. I then headed towards South Congress where I bailed and decided to trek home to give myself a little break. Jude tired.
That evening, we met up with Dr. Rage, a few of her friends and Rice Rocket and headed to Red's Indoor Range for Ladies Night. They waive the gun hire fee and you can shoot almost anything that you like - guns, not targets. There was an interesting group of women there who Dr. Rage assured us were there on a team building exercise. Bless their hearts, they were trying to shoot guns in 10 inch heels and lycra mini dresses.
Because Ladies Night is quite busy, we were given 20 minutes for 6 of us to fire off 50 rounds. Dr. Rage and her sidekick Tina locked and loaded the 9mm pistol for us and made sure we all had a crack.

Maim and I shared a target. Hers are the headshots, mine the crotch shots.
