Well, we went off the grid for a couple of days. I'll try and recap on the adventure so far.
On Sunday, we met up with Felonious Punk and took a road trip across the Golden Gate Bridge and out of San Francisco along with Skate Bush and Slam Punk. Our first pit stop was the vantage point at the end of the bridge looking back towards the city. we then took a detour around the coast and found a surf beach, lighthouse and army barracks.
We then made a beeline for Muir Woods, stopping at Wholefoods to grab some picnicky delights for a roadside (literally) picnic before making our way through the woods on a 90 min. hike. It was then back to the big smoke where we said our goodbyes to F.Punk, went to a 50s diner for dinner and retired for the evening.
Monday morning, Bush, Punk, Maim and I headed towards Fisherman's Wharf to meet up with Grim and Bec for our Alcatraz tour. we spent the next couple of hours entrenched in the history of The Rock before heading back to Fisherman's Wharf for soup in a sourdough bread roll (Chowdair!).
Grim and Bec left us here but not before we made a date for pie later that evening. The four of us ventured onwards to the Union Street shops, Lombard Street, the Victorian ladies and finished up at Haight Street for some well-deserved (or desired) pints. Later that evening we headed to Mel's Diner, famous for "American Graffiti", and had our farewell pie date with Grim and Bec.
Tuesday morning, Maim and I attempted shopping. Basically, we wandered around aimlessly and I cursed the lack of bored husband chairs at Victoria's Secret. It was then time to head to the airport and make our way to Albuquerque to catch up with the rest of the team and get ourselves some roller derby action.
