Our third bout was scheduled for 5:30pm so we had the morning off from each other. However, as much as we whinged, I think everyone stuck together, rotating through each others' tables at Denny's and visiting each others' rooms.
We then met up to go to the highly anticipated Rocky Mountain (1) vs. Arizona (4) bout. AZRD Tent City Terrors recently acquired big name transfers Atomatrix, Hockey Honey and Joy Collision while the 5280 Fight Club were without DeRanged and Psycho Babble. I was beside myself just to be watching first class roller derby live and in person. Fight Club came out victorious, 153 to 142.
We were now in the consolation bracket and aiming for a top five position but first we had to beat Pikes Peak Derby Dames for a spot in the playoff for 5th. And we did, 265 to 109.
Saturday highlights: Being busted photobombing RMRG with Splat - they thought we were cute; more Angel City love - MARRY ME; dinner with fresh vegetables and Joy; a convoy of minivans driving on the wrong side of the road momentarily.
