It was kind of hard to believe that Dust Devil was over and it was time for us all to go our separate ways. Just as the trip started for me in Albuquerque, I had breakfast with Pac and Chuck (at Denny's, you should all know that by now).
Some of the All Stars went on a last minute site seeing adventure while everyone else tried to cram their belongings back into their bags.
It was time for Maim, Fyfe and DeLight to take to the road and make our way towards Texas. After a couple of false starts, we eventually made it out of Tucson, driving past the Red Roof Inn one last time and seeing the minivans being loaded for the airport.
We managed to cover 3 states in one day, including crossing the entire state of New Mexico. We raced the sun to White Sands National Monument and arrived in time for an amazing view of the sunset over the sand dunes. We then made our way back to Las Cruces for dinner.
We ended our road trip in El Paso, Texas where we settled in at the Gardners Hotel for a night's rest. The hotel was very 'atmospheric' and I was wide awake after stupidly having a caffeine at 10pm. But on a positive note, I managed to catch up on days of blogging (and tablet hatred). This is why my blog posts are out of order. Also 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' was on and I can't resist a John Hughes movie.
And we're now on the road to San Antonio and eventually a reunion with the Texas Rollergirls in Austin.
I miss the team. I don't miss Denny's.
