Having consulted the Road Atlas, we decided to knock over the 8hr drive from El Paso to San Antonio in one day. Having learned our lesson yesterday, we pre-booked accommodation for the next 2 nights at the Travelodge Alamo Riverwalk.
The drive was somewhat monotonous but the landscape varied enough. Hell, I grew up in The Prairies, mountain ranges and wind farms are amazing! My mind did wander off occasionally as I secretly hoped that every red semi-trailer that we passed would spring open and Optimus Prime would reveal himself and jog down the i-10. Alas no.
The Road Trip Challenge playlists came out. After culling my playlist down from 18 to 12hrs (it was meant to be 4) as well as taking into consideration Maim's hatred of electronic music and toning down my inner drag queen, there was still one or two more Madonna songs than necessary. Still, it was a good 5hrs before we gave up on my iPod. I can't believe that no one knew 'Homecoming Queen's got a Gun'. Stop it, Debbie! You're embarrassing me!
I wonder what the team had for breakfast today.
